ABOUT DR MARK CROSS

Mark does doctoring differently. The first openly gay man to win “Father of the Year”, Mark also has lived experience of one of the conditions he treats - he’s been anxious since he was four. His empathy and humour make him one of Australia’s most loved psychiatrists.

Communicator, Campaigner, Author

Mark was the lead psychiatrist on two series of Changing Minds for the ABC, which led to a national conversation about the destigmatisation of mental health issues. He then went on to write two best selling books.

He appears regularly on radio and television and in the press speaking on mental health.

You’ll find him live on Facebook on Wednesday evenings talking about all things anxiety.

His message is that mental illness is exactly that, an illness, not a character defect. And he’s passionate about mental health preventative measures.

Mark lives in NSW with his husband and partner of 20 years, Jon Coll. He has two children and a cat.
